RISE Program
Students solving complex, real-world STEM problems through research and discovery programs.

An Actual Research Project
Students learn and then apply their knowledge to completing a research project. They go through all the research steps with a rocket.
-
Learn rocket physics
-
Build a water rocket
-
Program a flight controller
-
Record Data Electronically
-
Add a parachute release mechanism
-
Launch experiments to collect data
-
Analyze data
-
Find solutions

Educator's Roadmap
Phases
Goals
Modules
Phase 1: Foundations
Master the math and build the infrastructure.
1. Physics & Motion
2. Launcher Assembly
Phase 2 : The Build
Understand stability and flight mechanics.
3. Stability Theory
4. Flight Controller Install
Phase 3 : The Research
Launch, collect data, deploy recovery system
5. Parachute Construction
6. Launch & Data Collection
Phase 4 : The Innovation
Customize the code and run new research.
7. Coding
8. Additional Experiments
This challenge introduces students to complex STEM problem solving through experimental research, without the need for exhaustive lesson planning and prep or deep STEM knowledge. Parents and educators can just be the facilitator.
