CAD MODELING

Light Bulb Poster - TAGE Labs Custom Research Solutions | Turn Your Ideas into Automated Solutions

1. Idea

If you only have an idea we can work with that and discuss potential options.

2. Sketch

Better than an idea is a sketch of what you need. This speeds up the design process especially if dimensions are included.

3. Model

With an approved sketch we can create the 3D model of the part, including any moving parts. This is the final step before 3D Printing.

Dimensions Matter

The CAD model output is a 3D rendering as well as 2D specification drawing for final approval of all dimensions prior to beginning the printing process.

Constraints around physical enclosures, and integration with accessories or housing components, are a critical input to the design process.

What's involved?

Finding the solution to the problem is half the battle - then making it into something real is other half.

If all you have is the idea, or maybe the problem you are trying to solve we can help with ideas and possible solutions. From this we would create sketches for approval and then move to the actual design.

What is really important for prototyping is an understanding of the whole project to ensure integration of the design into a larger system. The possible electronics may factor into the design too so that information is important.

FAQ

  • For design approval we will provide 3D views and 2D specification drawings with all dimensions.

    Answer

  • That's a great place to start. We can take those sketches and transform them into a 3D model. It is very important that we know all dimensions - preferably in millimeters.

    Answer

  • For the most part that is not an issue. Dimensions that are dependent on other dimensions can be impacted of course.

    Answer

  • Absolutely - we retain all designs for future changes or printing.

    Answer

  • No - Tage Labs retains the right to all design files.
